The Grand Opening

Growing up the daughter of a Gamekeeper, knowing where the food on the table came from was very important in our household. As the years went by, I trained as a chef and continued on a love affair with using locally and ethically sourced produce.
Over a decade ago now, Gideon started out at a little town butchers in Midhurst. He quickly learnt to love his craft and it became more a passion than a job.
Now here we are 12 years and two children down the line. Gideon and I have always dreamed of owning our own business; something we can share with other people, our love of food. Butcher and Larder was cooked up during the COVID-19 lockdown whilst working together to help keep the country fed at a difficult time. We discovered a new way of promoting the meat people buy; for a customer to look at a map and pick exactly which farm their dinner comes from. As we move into a more eco conscious world, it became increasingly more important to give people the option to reduce food miles in a convenient online store format, along with local market sales, with all our packaging being as biodegradable and recyclable as possible.
We can’t wait to welcome you all to the joy that is Butcher and Larder.
